Self contained power steering

Another design by Jean-Hugues Lagacé is this self-contained power steering.

This steering was design especially to replace wire and pulley system found on sailboats and small motor boats.

The steering does not require any outside power source.

By just turning the steering wheel attached to it, it will turn the rudder one way or the other.

The design is very simple and consists of a screw driving the oil one way or the other.

The other parts needed to connect this steering to your boat’s rudder are, enough hydraulic tubing to reach the attach point to the cylinder that drives the rudder and that is it.

Detailed drawings may be available soon to people who like do-it yourself projects. Visit us regularly.

In the mean time, since detail drawings are not available for the power steering, why not build the electric scooter?
